4 Paws Sake is located in the Toledo, Ohio area and adopts, primarily to families that live in northwest Ohio and southeastern Michigan.  Only under "special" circumstances will we consider any other out of state adoptions since a dog must come back to us in the event that it does not work out.

Our application process is as follows:

Once an application is submitted online, it is forwarded to our screening committee to determine whether or not it meets our general criteria.  The criteria for each dog differs depending on that dog's needs and unique situation.  Once it has been assessed  that these requirements have been met, and other procedures are followed, the applicant will be contacted by phone to go over the application with one of our screeners.  If the screener determines that the dog and applicant may be a good match, the application is then forwarded on to that dog's foster parent for further review.  Should the foster parent also concur that this is a good match, he/she will contact the applicant to further discuss the application, answer any question the applicant may have, and, if agreed on by both parties, set up an opportunity for dog and applicant to meet.  Should the meeting go well, our adoption committee will then review the application a final time for approval of the adoption.

Please keep in mind that 4 Paws Sake, Inc. is a volunteer organization run, for the most part, by individuals who also work full-time jobs.  Our goal is to contact our applicants within one to three business days of receipt of an application.  However, depending on the number of applications we are receiving, as well as the availability of our volunteers, it may take slightly longer for our initial contact.  Usually, the entire process takes roughly one week.

Please indicate below that you are aware that there is a $175 adoption fee that is collected for all adoptions. This fee helps fund the care and medical treatment of adoptable dogs. 4 Paw Sake, Inc. ensures that all dogs are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on all shots prior to being adopted.
