4 Paws Sake is located in the Toledo, Ohio area and adopts, primarily to families that live in northwest Ohio and southeastern Michigan.  Only under "special" circumstances will we consider any other out of state adoptions since a dog must come back to us in the event that it does not work out.

Meet Bella!!!!!!! Bella is a fun, sweet, active, loyal pooch. She was rescued on her last day in a high-kill GA facility.  She is absolutely beautiful and aims to please. Sadly, we have found that Bella must have been abused or in a home where domestic violence occurred. She is untrusting of men and will immediately attach herself to the women and children of the house. The man of the house can pet her but she does not prefer him. Bella is a dog that you know you could leave your children in the yard and nothing will happen to them. She is very loyal and feels it is her job to protect her family. Since she feels the need to take charge she will need an assertive owner who is able to assist her balance her instincts but yet not allow her to take the leadership role. Bella loves other dogs once she gets to know them, she would not be suited for an already existing alpha dog. She gets along with cats but thinks it is a game when they run. Older children would probably be best since she is pretty rough and tumble when she plays. She is crate trained, house trained and knows, sit, shake and stand.  Bella has so much love to offer a family and has traveled a long way to find the right family, she has become her foster mom’s ALL time favorite foster dog.

Roxie is a two year old Doberman mix. She is a great dog, loves people and most other dogs. Roxie knows basic commands like "sit", "down" and "shake" and is housebroken. She is very gentle with treats and will "wait" for the treat before taking it from your hand. She is playful and full of energy during "play time" so is not recommended for a home with small children.  Roxie would not do well in a house with cats or small furry pets because she will chase them to play. Roxie needs to be crated when left alone.  She loves to sleep in her foster mom's bed at night but will sleep on the floor when told to.  She enjoys going for long walks and just loves being with you wherever you go. Roxie will require a fenced yard because she is a little obsessed with squirrels and bunnies. Her foster family loves her dearly but the cats at her foster home say it's time for her to go!  Roxie would make a great family dog and would love to meet you!

Buddy is a Treeing Walker Coonhound.  We are guessing he is about 5 years of age. He had a very hard beginning but has blossomed into a beautiful loving dog.  He is totally house broke and gets along with other dogs and cats. He absolutely loves to go for walks and gets so excited when he thinks its time. He has a very laid back personality.  He loves to give kisses.
 
Buddy has some problems with his hips, he is on Glucosamine and when they occasionally bother him he is given a non-steroidal medication. His hip problems don't stop him from enjoying his walks. He has lots of love to give to someone who will give him his forever home.

-She is very active
-She loves to play with other dogs although she does bark and talk alot at first.
-She voices her opinion no matter what :)
-She also takes the medication as a treat now!
-She LOVES TO CUDDLE
-At first she did not like car rides but now she is always ready ESPECIALLY if it is to go to work with me!
-She smiles!  She shows off her teeth when she is really excited but it is ONLY her beautiful smile! :)
-She knows how to sit and lie down very good! we are working on 'leave it' and some other fun ones! (we are also working on stay, she is a wiggle worm and always on the move)
-She is VERY sweet with children and she is learning not take food unless told otherwise.
-She love to go to the park just not so much when there is alot of snow....

Gracie is 3 years old.  She is housebroken.  She knows "sit" "stay" "go bye, bye" and "down".  She needs a fence.  She is very affectionate.  Sometimes she walks well on a leash - we have to make her sit-stay when she pulls too hard.  She's been very good to our 4 yr. and 1 1/2 year old granddaughters.  She does not like other animals.  She will fetch a tennis ball and frisbee.  Her energy level is variable.  High when excited, but she is calm most of the time.  She was crate trained, but we don't use one anymore.  She has the run of the house when we're gone and sleeps on the floor in our bedroom.

Eddie is a 2 year old greyhound mix.  he enjoys running, cuddling anywhere, attention and more running.  Eddie is a wonderful dog who would be happy just being in your arms especially after a good run.  Eddie, was raised with cats, kids/babies and other dogs.  Eddie can jump a 4 foot fence without a problem.  So at least a 6 ft fence is recommended.  Because he does love to run being tied up is not recommended.  Eddie also chews things when bored.  If you keep plenty of chew toys around your furniture is safe.  Eddie is a ladies man through and through.  I you will give him your attention, he will give you his love forever and of course keep your lap warm.  There is just no way to tell him he is too big to be a lap dog.
